5 Things To Buy At IKEA For Under $10

5 Things To Buy At IKEA For Under $10

Four letters that can make a group of ladies smile without hesitation, IKEA!  While my husband has braved the store with me on a few anniversary trips, it is better visited with girlfriends.  IKEA is about an hour and half away from where I live, so it makes a great day trip!

Since I am getting anxious to make another trip that way, I thought it would be the perfect time to show you what I love from IKEA.  All of these IKEA items we use all the time and they have definitely stood the test of time!  Plus all the items are under $10!

So let’s get started!

1.  KALAS KID DISHES $2.99/each set

Our family loves and has used the KALAS dishes and flatware for years.  They are perfect for kids!  I love that the plates have lips on them, it helps the kids eat without their food slipping off the plate.  Also the bowls are the perfect size for snacks.

The flatware we have had to replace once…obviously they get the most wear and tear, but overall everything has held up very well!  My oldest at age 9 is starting to outgrow these dishes, simply because his food doesn’t fit on the plate anymore…but I feel like it is great for kids 8 and younger.

2. VIRSERUM FRAMES $4.99-$9.99/each

I have bought several frames from the VIRSERUM collection, however if you don’t like this style they have several different options.  I love the prices!  I have several of the 12 X 16 size (with the mat it fits 8 X 10 pictures) and the frames only cost $9.99.  The description calls these frames white, but they do fit in with my off white trim.  I would not say they are a bright white if that helps.

I use these frames in my stairway, in my living room, in the kids rooms…they go everywhere and for the price, why not!

3. FEJKA PLANT $4.99/each

OK, I have to be honest…I was never really a fejka person, but I picked up a couple from IKEA a few years ago for some cheap decor.  They had the ceramic pots for $.50 at that time, so I grabbed a few to go with the fejka’s.  I am so glad I did!  I love my fejka’s!

I love the pop of color the green fijka’s add.  I am picky about “fake” plants and yet I love the look of the fejkas from IKEA.  The plants can get dusty, but I use a damp cloth or a swifter to wipe them down. Try buying them in 3’s to make a more dramatic look!

4. ROMANTISK TRAY $9.99/each

Originally, I bought this tray more for a decoration.  However, we soon saw the functional benefit of having a tray and started using it for much more.

For pizza and movie nights, we let our kids sit in the living room on the floor and the tray was perfect to set drinks on. When we would have a bonfire outside, I would use the tray to bring out all the s’more items.  I really underestimated how handy this tray would be!

Yet it is pretty enough, I can set it on the table with three vases of Hydrangeas for a centerpiece!  This tray is so versatile.  Another bonus is it has held up incredibly well, we have had it for several years and it looks like brand new still.  You won’t go wrong buying this tray and that is why we love it.

5. TORKIS $7.99/each

The TORKIS is labeled as a flexible laundry basket, but it can be used for so much more.  I have three of these bins and use two in my girls bedrooms to hold stuffed animals.  The third one I use outside for weeding and my garden. My bins are green, but they have a gorgeous robin blue color now!

Obviously, the ones inside look like brand new…stuffed animals don’t do a lot of damage.  But let’s talk about my weeding bin.  I beat that bin up, fill it with weeds always overflowing and it doesn’t have a scratch on it.

It may be a little dirty…but I love that bin!  I have left it out in rain, and the elements and it doesn’t matter.  Plus it is perfect for collecting veggies from my garden!  I may need a new kneeling pad since my kids poked a million holes in it with my hand cultivator, but my bin is amazing.

IKEA has some amazing products, I have bought many others things I love from there…but these are the items I use all the time!  I hope you find this list helpful and definitely make a trip of it!

Happy shopping.  Thanks for checking out my post!
