4 Examples That Will Inspire You To Use Your Landscaping To Decorate

Does your landscape inspire you?  Personally, mine didn’t and I was sick of looking outside at weeds and dirt all the time.  I was ready to make a plan and create a beautiful landscape.  My new dream became to create a yard I could use, not one that just looked pretty.   I wanted to create a yard to use for decorating, one that could help me do all the amazing things that these example show.

Over the past 6 months, I have done a lot of research on how to create a yard for decorating.  How to fill it with all the plants and flowers that so many decorator’s use to inspire.  Every individual can surround themselves with that same inspiration right in their backyard.  Most can grow the same plants, and spend much less than running to the flower shop.

Decorating on a budget, by using your landscaping, is my passion.  So let’s take a look at how our yards can inspire us through every season!

Spring:

Nothing is more exiting than seeing the first signs of spring poking through the ground.  Signs of life after a long cold winter.  I am especially excited this year, because last fall I planted over 200 tulip bulbs!  Part of my inspiration, comes from my new eBook The Ultimate Plant Guide To Decorating.  I am choosing plants specifically for my landscaping that I can use to decorate.

Summer:

Summer is when most landscapes are in full bloom.  Planting in multiples will allow you to have enough blooms to create gorgeous floral arrangements like the ones below, as well as maintain a beautiful yard.  Did you ever think you could make floral arrangements like this, just from walking around your yard?  Plus growing your own flowers will save a lot of money!

Fall:

Fall is one of my favorite times of year.  Growing corn in your garden or pumpkins if you have the space, are a great way to grow your own decorations.  Keep in mind if you use chrysanthemums to decorate your porch, you may need to wait until the next spring to plant them.   If you plant them too close to the frost date, the roots may not have enough time to get established and may not survive the winter.

Winter:

While winter right now seems to be wrapping up, it’s not time to completely move on!  I know, I get it…we are all ready to see tulips and daffodils and all those gorgeous spring bulbs, which I am too.  However, just a little planting in the spring will set you up for a gorgeous winter next season.  Red twig dogwood, polar gold arborvitae, and winterberry holly are three shrubs that stand out among the white snow and can help make stunning winter decorations.

Use Your Landscaping To Decorate

Creating a landscape to use for decorating is all in the plant selection.  In my eBook, I have put together plant guides for 16 amazing plants commonly used for decorating, many of them are used in the examples above.  I explain the proper way to cut these branches for decorating, how to care for these plants in a vase or a planter.  How to care for these shrubs in the soil, when to prune and more.

I also include several amazing worksheets to help you create your own landscape plan.  A way to get all the plants you need for decorating and stay on task, even if it takes a few years to complete.
